RM50,000 Pledged by Chery Malaysia to Support National Athletes
Chery Malaysia has officially launched the all-new Chery Tiggo Cross, a B-segment SUV available in two variants: the 1.5 Turbo (from RM88,800) and the Hybrid CSH (from RM99,800). Both are locally assembled (CKD) at the Inokom plant in Kulim, marking Chery’s latest step in strengthening its presence in Malaysia.
In conjunction with the launch, Chery Malaysia pledged RM50,000 to the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN). The contribution was presented by Chery Vice President Cheng Nam Weng to Youth and Sports Minister YB Hannah Yeoh, in the presence of other top officials. This donation highlights Chery’s commitment to national development beyond the automotive sector.
The RM50,000 pledge is part of Chery’s long-standing partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS). Under this collaboration, Chery offers 50% discounts on vehicles for Olympic and Paralympic athletes and continues to support the growth of Malaysia’s sports ecosystem.
At the same event, Chery Malaysia celebrated its second anniversary since entering the Malaysian market in July 2023. The company now operates 58 outlets nationwide and has introduced five vehicle models, reflecting strong and steady growth.
Looking ahead, Chery plans to expand its lineup with new models expected later this year. Industry insiders anticipate the arrival of the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 CSH PHEV, both featuring a 1.5L turbocharged plug-in hybrid system offering over 1,200 km of combined range and 100 km EV-only travel.
