Heavy traffic expected on PLUS highways this Merdeka weekend

PLUS Malaysia is bracing for a surge of vehicles on its highways, with traffic volume projected to hit 2.2 million cars a day throughout the long weekend in conjunction with the 68th Merdeka celebration.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their trips wisely over the next few days, from now until Monday, September 1, to avoid unnecessary delays.

According to PLUS, unlike festive periods where peak travel days are more predictable, traffic conditions during this holiday will be closely tracked and updates will be shared regularly to keep drivers informed.

The highway operator has also enhanced its mobile application with a new MyPLUS-TTA function, giving users the option to store preferred routes and view live traffic alerts directly on their search page for easier trip planning.
